The three-day practical course in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery of rodents and lagomorphs under the guidance of Dr. Vittorio Capello from Italy gathered 30 participants from 8 countries.
The workshops were held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw on October 12-14, 2018.
During the classes, participants learned the secrets of anatomy and pathophysiology of dental diseases in furry patients. Classes abounded in practical sessions, practice of surgical procedures and extraction of teeth on cadavers of rabbits, guinea pigs, and even ferrets, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils and hedgehogs. Participants had the opportunity to take and evaluate x-rays and perform endoscopic dentition assessment.
