Small Mammal Medicine
CONFERENCE & WORKSHOP
25 – 27 March, 2023
International event for exotic pet veterinarians.
A unique opportunity to gain knowledge from world-class specialists.
About the Event
We would love to invite you for our next Furry Vets event!
It’s been over 5 years since we last met in Warsaw during Rabbit Medicine and Guinea Pig Medicine Conferences and Workshops in 2017. Back in 2020 our II Rabbit Medicine Conference went online and gathered over 250 participants.
This time we are extremely honoured and excited that two unique specialists accepted our invitation to lecture for us during the Small Mammal Medicine Conference. Straight from Hong Kong a person that needs no presentation – Dr Zoltan Szabo DVM, DACZM, DABVP(ECM), DABVP(Avian), GpCert(ExAP), MRCVS known to many of us as @dr.zoltan – one of the most active exotic pet veterinarians in the world, sharing his passion for education and clinical excellence and our first Polish radiology diplomate Dr Ewa Stańczyk DVM, PhD, DECVDI, MRCVS. We are more than happy that they will finally meet in person, as we know that they already collaborate in the field of advanced exotic pet teleradiology.
The conference will take place 25-26 March 2023 in the Airport Hotel in Warsaw.
We also planned (27 March) a post-congress wet lab in small mammal soft tissue surgery workshops with Dr Zoltan Szabo and Péter Pazár DVM, an owner of the Exo-Pet Clinic in Budapest.
Feel welcome to join us on Saturday (25 March) night during a cocktail party.

Workshop Objectives
Our wet lab is dedicated to the veterinarians and students who already have some surgical experience in small mammals (primarily rabbits and guinea pigs) and are on the intermediate level.
The workshop includes small theoretical parts and a presentation of each technique and then the time for practical training under the supervision of our course masters.
Practical wet lab will cover topics of:
- flank vs midline ovariohysterectomy (depending on the availability of the cadavers)
- abdominal vs. scrotal castration (depending on the availability of the cadavers)
- cystotomy
- nephrectomy + ureterostomy
- partial ear ablation + bulla osteotomy
- gastrotomy and enterotomy/enterectomy
- liver lobectomy and splenectomy
Topics are subject to minor changes due to availability of the selected species cadavers. Our lecturers will present the techniques and participants will practise them in pairs. Each person will have guaranteed at least one cadaver for training.
The organisers provide participants with surgical kits, personal protective equipment, lunch and coffee breaks, workshop certificates and materials in English.

Inviting high-class specialists, who are also able to convey knowledge in a clear and interesting way, was a hit and a great breath of fresh air in our native veterinary medicine. I assess the organization of the conference as very good or even excellent, if only because of the prevailing positive atmosphere. I will certainly look forward to news about the next Vetnolimits conferences. 🙂
I am very delighted with the conference. I felt it was an international conference. If there were more such trainings with such wonderful staff, I would definitely like to participate in such a conference more than once. I think it is the best training I have ever attended.
Both the conference and the workshop exceeded my expectations! Great organization, very good contact with the organizers. An interesting selection of topics and great lecturers who know what they are talking about and have lots of practical tips for us. I’m looking forward to the next events! <3
I liked the training very much. The organization itself was at a high level. There was also a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend another training to my friends.
Very nice conference, great substantive approach, openness and the way in which the knowledge was transferred. I hope for more such events. Applause for the organizers for completing every detail so that each participant felt special and at the same time at ease. I heartily recommend 😊
The conference turned out amazing. Please keep doing this!
