Francois le Grange
BVSc, BSc, MRCVS
Francois qualified from the University of Pretoria at Onderstepoort in 2009, where he was working for few years a clinician at Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital. Despite clinical work he was involved in various research projects as well as student mentorship. Avian and reptile field were always his main fields of interest, next to the zoological and wildlife field work around various zoos and nature reserves in South Africa.
After he left his home country, he started conservation medicine in Qatar at Al Wabra Wildlife Preservation founded by the Qatari Prince Saud bin Muhammed Al Thani. There he first joined the critically endagered Spix’s macaw reintroduction program – reproduction and reintroduction of the rarest parrots in the world.
He continued his Middle East chapter by moving to the United Arab Emirates to serve the Royal Family in Dubai with all their complex wildlife needs – from large mammals, through birds of prey, large reptiles to wild cats.
After over 2 years in Dubai, he decided to move to Germany to once again join the spix’s macaw breeding programme, where together with the team of avian experts he was responsible for their health, reproduction and care for chicks and then release of the spix’s macaws back into the wild in Brazil.
He has presented at multiple conferences around the world. Now he is stationed in Norway where he runs XOvet consulting – telemedicine second opinion service for exotic pet vets.

Inviting high-class specialists, who are also able to convey knowledge in a clear and interesting way, was a hit and a great breath of fresh air in our native veterinary medicine. I assess the organization of the conference as very good or even excellent, if only because of the prevailing positive atmosphere. I will certainly look forward to news about the next Vetnolimits conferences. 🙂
I am very delighted with the conference. I felt it was an international conference. If there were more such trainings with such wonderful staff, I would definitely like to participate in such a conference more than once. I think it is the best training I have ever attended.
Both the conference and the workshop exceeded my expectations! Great organization, very good contact with the organizers. An interesting selection of topics and great lecturers who know what they are talking about and have lots of practical tips for us. I’m looking forward to the next events! <3
I liked the training very much. The organization itself was at a high level. There was also a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend another training to my friends.
Very nice conference, great substantive approach, openness and the way in which the knowledge was transferred. I hope for more such events. Applause for the organizers for completing every detail so that each participant felt special and at the same time at ease. I heartily recommend 😊
The conference turned out amazing. Please keep doing this!
