The Project
Furry Vets is a project of people who want to disenchant the veterinary reality.
The smallest patients are recognized in Poland and abroad as exotic animals. Despite the large number of veterinary practices and the emerging new faculties of veterinary medicine at universities, still relatively few of our colleagues deal with small mammals, birds and reptiles, whose popularity as pets is constantly growing. And those who have devoted themselves to practice in these fields often do not have – as we do – the opportunity to improve their skills and expand their specialist knowledge in the country.
That’s why the idea of Furry Vets was born!
For this reason, we took matters into our own hands. We started with a conference with a treasury of knowledge and a living legend in the subject of rabbits – Frances Harcourt-Brown. It was in April 2017.
In July of the same year, we organized cytology workshop with Dr. Francesco Carrani, and in December 2017 – a conference, workshop and a master class in guinea pig medicine with Dr. Charly Pignon and Dr. Mette Lybek Rueløkke.
In 2018, a three-day veterinary dentistry course with Dr. Vittorio Capello, and in 2020 the 2nd Rabbit Medicine Conference, this time online with Dr. Charly Pignon and Dr. Elisabetta Mancinelli.
In 2023 we are coming to you with a Conference on small mammal medicine and Surgical Workshop – our invitation was accepted by Dr. Ewa StaÅ„czyk and Dr. Zoltan Szabo. This time, for the first time, we will also focus on feathered patients during the first Avian Medicine Symposium and Workshop with Francois le Grange and Zoltan Szabo. You’re welcome!
